Summer programmes runs from May to August. On Monday afternoon and evening an outdoor venue is arranged where members may draw and paint in their favourite media. Locations are all local to Altrincham, and vary from churches to barns, garden centres to railway stations. Tuesday to Friday evenings the studio is available for members to use for their own painting projects.

During the Autumn/Winter programme, which runs from September to April, events take place in the studio.
On Monday there are two stewards, one of whom provides a still life and the other a (dressed) portrait model, normally a friend or relative. (The model is dressed because it's difficult to persuade friends or relatives to take their clothes off!). The number of members painting still and living life subjects tends to be fairly even, and the studio can become well populated, so it's wise to arrive in good time. Active society members are expected to act as Monday evening stewards once a year.
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings are available for members' own interests. Thursday tends to be "oil" night, although members wishing to use other media are welcome to do so, and on Friday evening one of the society senior members is available to provide help if requested, particularly to new members.
